How much are you focused on your own personal and professional development?
How much do you pay attention to your own needs when you’re looking at how you may need to grow? Are you actively investing in training, programs, self-care, and more to focus on what you need or are you letting the world tell you what to be doing next?
If you’re not focused on what you need to know, you’re going to lose many opportunities and more.
On this episode, I sit down with Greg Chapman, where we talk about personal and professional development and some of the ways that Greg has come to recognize what it was that he needed to focus on as he transitioned from one career to another in the midst of a global pandemic.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of MOJO: The Meaning of Life and Business. On today’s program, we’re going to be talking about personal development. To a lot of people personal development is one of those ideas that yes, I’ll, do it at some point when I can or it’s one of those ideas that
00:00:22.000 –> 00:00:30.000
I am constantly invested in the idea of developing my skills.
00:00:30.000 –> 00:00:38.000
Whether it’s Personally or Professionally, and it really becomes an important part of who they are.
00:00:38.000 –> 00:00:51.000
And if you look at the really successful Entrepreneurs, they are the ones that are always investing in their own personal and professional development, and it is because they understand what it can do for you that really makes the difference, and so I have a great guest.
00:00:51.000 –> 00:01:00.000
On the show today who’s going to be helping us, understand more in terms of a personal development.
00:01:00.000 –> 00:01:15.000
How so we can get into this conversation. Know what it means to really invest in our personal development and go from there but before I bring my guest on, let me tell you a little bit about him Greg Chapman has a background in small business development.
00:01:15.000 –> 00:01:20.000
Helping many to start and grow their own businesses, for the last couple of Years.
00:01:20.000 –> 00:01:35.000
Greg has been building a business of his own in the Adaptogenic Mushroom industry through his company, Greg educates and help it helps his clients to reach their best selves from the inside out. Greg thank you so much for being on the show
00:01:35.000 –> 00:01:37.000
Hi, Jennifer, thank you so much for having me. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other.
00:01:37.000 –> 00:01:44.000
I think, probably pre quarantine or maybe right at the beginning. we were able to meet yeah
00:01:44.000 –> 00:01:52.000
During lockdown. Yes, going way back to 2020, when we first spoke, it’s quite the time
00:01:52.000 –> 00:01:57.000
Yeah, it is. I remember I just switched over to starting to do a Live
00:01:57.000 –> 00:02:14.000
Podcast I was doing live streaming podcasts on. I think Facebook, as Opposed to you know, recording them and dropping them online, because that was where all the People were everyone was just hanging out, on Facebook, it was just so interesting Switching Over to that industry.
00:02:14.000 –> 00:02:37.000
Without a question, when you were doing those shows and trying to really get the right people, and again that goes to the idea of personal development, too, because you are trying to help your listeners have an idea what it meant to actually be learning, something, to be developing in themselves, to try and really get that growth.
00:02:37.000 –> 00:02:48.000
And experience, which was might be time and I mean, you know, 2 and a half give or take years ago.
00:02:48.000 –> 00:02:51.000
Now, I mean, that’s really you know, quite some time ago.
00:02:51.000 –> 00:02:57.000
Yeah, I mean, it’s kind of funny. It feels like, I mean, it’s been to and a half years.
00:02:57.000 –> 00:03:05.000
But it’s almost Feels like we’re just getting back to where we were before so it’s almost like no time has passed in a weird. Way.
00:03:05.000 –> 00:03:06.000
You know. It’s like I feel it was just yesterday. We were doing.
00:03:06.000 –> 00:03:23.000
These podcasts. We’re sharing business stories, swapping techniques, and Life hacks and all of that, and then just kind of went Away, for a while, I think some of the Bigger Names Stayed up, you know, it has had your Gary Vaynerchuk, and all your little online, Media mobile.
00:03:23.000 –> 00:03:40.000
and everything, but like your average, small business person, just kind of stopped doing podcast stop Reaching Out, wasn’t really able to spend the time to be reaching out into the community, and learning, and growing it was kind of an all hands on deck just trying to keep things, up, flow and make sure, that not only I mean, a if
00:03:40.000 –> 00:03:45.000
they were going to be able to keep a business, but be like the house over their head.
00:03:45.000 –> 00:03:50.000
You know. So it’s kind of like we’re just getting back to a point where we’re all kind of in a growth
00:03:50.000 –> 00:04:08.000
state, again, where we’re comfortable, like we’re able to start putting money into marketing so I know it, kind of when those shutdowns happen like the first time they let up all business started again, and then I showed it down again, and then it opened up and then less people put their heads out and shut
00:04:08.000 –> 00:04:16.000
Down again, and then it shut down a third time, and everyone just kind of was like, all right, you know what we’re gonna have to buckle in and stay tight.
00:04:16.000 –> 00:04:19.000
And I feel like, yeah, it’s been almost 2 years.
00:04:19.000 –> 00:04:24.000
Now since that last lockdown and people are just starting to come out again.
00:04:24.000 –> 00:04:27.000
So it’s great
00:04:27.000 –> 00:04:42.000
It is definitely great to see businesses, doing that. But one of the things if you’re listening that you do want to be paying attention to that you may have survived the pandemic but you want to make sure that you’re, going to be around tomorrow too.
00:04:42.000 –> 00:04:57.000
And you need to be paying attention to profit in terms of where you are in your business, and if you’ve been listening to me for any period of time, you know that that’s one of the areas that I really have been stressing especially of late to focus more on the profit revenue, feeds, are
00:04:57.000 –> 00:05:09.000
each ego, profit, fees, or family, and it’s something that you really need to be thinking about in your own life, in your own business, from what you’re doing but greg, let’s kind, of circle back, to development.
00:05:09.000 –> 00:05:17.000
And we’ll come back to the Marketing and the Covid stories.
00:05:17.000 –> 00:05:25.000
After. But we talk about the personal development and personal development takes a lot of different forms.
00:05:25.000 –> 00:05:39.000
If you were going to be helping or listeners, what would you say is an area to at least start in when it comes to personal development for them to be focused on
00:05:39.000 –> 00:06:06.000
I think the thing that’s helped me the most is learning to take care of my own needs before building out really building a strong base of my own Income Building a Business, Surround something that I can control like in the past I had a business, around a lot, of client, work, and then when you have to rely.
00:06:06.000 –> 00:06:10.000
on clients, then it turns out. You don’t really have control over your business.
00:06:10.000 –> 00:06:31.000
So building a business that you can kind of integrate into your lifestyle and have control over and really give yourself a solid foundation on which to stand and so that you can kind of grow on your own terms, because i’ve found that i’ve the the large majority of bad business decisions, i’ve
00:06:31.000 –> 00:06:55.000
made are in moments where I need the money, in which, like I need to pay the bills or we need to invest into marketing or into some new technology, for the company, and then you make those decisions on money, and a lot of the times, hurting into relationships, with other businesses, whether it’s vendors, or
00:06:55.000 –> 00:07:03.000
distributors or clients, even picking up clients and then you don’t take the time to vet him, and then they end up being a bad client, or a bad partnership, and you’re.
00:07:03.000 –> 00:07:08.000
Not moving forward, anymore. You have to step backwards, or when you remove those clients or partnerships.
00:07:08.000 –> 00:07:26.000
So really being able to say that you’re comfortable in your own space. And then growing from there, has been able to be one of the biggest helps to me to actually getting a business off the ground and running in a direction, that I can control
00:07:26.000 –> 00:07:51.000
I love how you said, though that you realize where one of your problems resulted from and that was needing to make decisions, from a place of lack of money, or a lack of resources instead of it, being something else because a lot, of people don’t realize sometimes that that’s, what is actually in the driver, Seat and not the
00:07:51.000 –> 00:07:54.000
Business reasons to actually do something else. like you said, you may need to go with vendor, a instead of going with vendor.
00:07:54.000 –> 00:08:04.000
B, simply because vendor, A is giving you 5 cents less on the item and vendor.
00:08:04.000 –> 00:08:11.000
B. May be a little bit more, but they’re going to be better in the long term, and so sometimes we need to look at it simply while I need to buy a 1 million of these pieces.
00:08:11.000 –> 00:08:23.000
At 5 Cents Less. It adds up, you know, that’s $50,000 that you’re saving by going with vendor, a instead of under Being.
00:08:23.000 –> 00:08:32.000
But when we look though, at what we’re doing we need to also understand, like you, said what that means right.
00:08:32.000 –> 00:08:40.000
How to stay back and take another look at what it is that you’re doing, and understand, sometimes maybe money, can’t always be in the driver’s.
00:08:40.000 –> 00:08:50.000
Seat, it’s got to be in the driver’s seat, sometimes, but not always in the driver’s seat in terms of making some of those decisions, right
00:08:50.000 –> 00:08:56.000
Absolutely I mean, that’s that’s why there’s an accounting department.
00:08:56.000 –> 00:09:00.000
Right, like at the end of the day. Your business is either in the black or in the red,
00:09:00.000 –> 00:09:05.000
And I know a lot of people might look at you, know, some bigger corporations or big companies, and taking big investments.
00:09:05.000 –> 00:09:14.000
It’s like Amazon didn’t reach profitability for like 20 years, but yet they were one of the most valuable companies in the world.
00:09:14.000 –> 00:09:22.000
How is that? And that’s because their business got to a point where just existing had, value, like it was making money for a lot of people around them.
00:09:22.000 –> 00:09:29.000
Even though they weren’t profitable but when you’re a small business, that’s a hard thing to do, like let’s say you’re working a job, and you bring home.
00:09:29.000 –> 00:09:40.000
We’ll just say $5,000 a month. Right, $3,000 goes to your Personals and then you’re able to invest $2,000 a month, into your business, keep it.
00:09:40.000 –> 00:09:52.000
This is a reality, for a lot of people that are starting businesses are using their own personal money, because you’re, the only person that sees your vision and you got to get it to a point where you can make other people believe in it.
00:09:52.000 –> 00:10:09.000
Before you can take money from people. So if you’re sitting there and your business starts losing money all of a sudden you’re losing a $1,000 a month, out right there you, only have $1,000 to spend on your month, of business, because your business, just hit the red and negative $1,000, a month.
00:10:09.000 –> 00:10:13.000
And that’s 50% of your operating revenue right there.
00:10:13.000 –> 00:10:18.000
So paying attention, to the black and red is very important it’s like, how do you set up?
00:10:18.000 –> 00:10:20.000
Distribution deals, or how are you buying products?
00:10:20.000 –> 00:10:38.000
How are you hosting, your website, how are you doing and marketing and all of these things, having to balance it on those small budgets, is terribly difficult if you’re not paying attention, to the black or the red
00:10:38.000 –> 00:10:44.000
No question about it. You need to be paying attention to your numbers.
00:10:44.000 –> 00:10:49.000
You need to be paying attention to what your acquisition costs are right. Too.
00:10:49.000 –> 00:11:09.000
Many people have no clue, what their real numbers are they assume I’ve got $10,000 sitting in the bank that’s the number that I work with the problem is, though is that how do you know how much you can spend to get a customer how do you know how much you can give to a
00:11:09.000 –> 00:11:16.000
Partner, to say refer me new business. How much can you really work with in that regime?
00:11:16.000 –> 00:11:27.000
If you don’t really know your numbers, one of the things that you have to be looking at is you want to make sure that whatever your acquisition costs are to your lifetime value.
00:11:27.000 –> 00:11:46.000
Of your client, your ltv. You want to note that it’s going to be a third or less of the overall lifetime value of a client, your acquisition Cost if you’re more than that you may not be breaking even at the end of the Day because some clients may leave
00:11:46.000 –> 00:11:49.000
You earlier in terms of where you’re going to be.
00:11:49.000 –> 00:12:09.000
And so you really need to be paying careful attention to what it is that you’re doing in that regard and like you were saying, Greg, you really need to be clear black and red what are your name that you understand what those numbers are long term from what you’re doing so thank you for that
00:12:09.000 –> 00:12:30.000
So let’s jump into a different, piece, though we’re talking about the Adoptogenic Mushrooms, and I want to talk with you about the mushrooms and how That’s, part of your own Personal and Professional Development, In terms, of what you do so Let’s, Start with what the Heck are
00:12:30.000 –> 00:12:32.000
Adaptogenic Mushrooms
00:12:32.000 –> 00:12:39.000
Adaptogenic Mushrooms, first and foremost, are not psychedelic mushrooms, so that is the first question.
00:12:39.000 –> 00:12:43.000
I get every single time, I say that I’m into mushrooms.
00:12:43.000 –> 00:12:48.000
So there are tens of thousands of different species of mushrooms in the world.
00:12:48.000 –> 00:12:52.000
And it just so happens, with a small handful. Of them. Work.
00:12:52.000 –> 00:13:11.000
Very, very seamlessly and integrate very well with the human body, some of them relieve stress, some of them boost, your Immunity, one of my Favorites, cordyceps, helps you Balance, your energy, throughout the Day, and another, one of my Favorites, Lions, Main which has become very
00:13:11.000 –> 00:13:32.000
popular, it actually helps with your brain health I can speak from personal testament that it helps clear up a lot of brain fog, and that within a few days of taking it my digit memory, doubled like I went from I was kinda down I was in I was in the Spot, read a lot, of brain Fog when I started taking
00:13:32.000 –> 00:13:37.000
it so I was down to like 4 or 5 digits, where I could just glance at it, memorize it.
00:13:37.000 –> 00:13:40.000
Now I’m up to almost like 10 min and I was at that within like a week.
00:13:40.000 –> 00:13:58.000
It just really cleared it all out, and I mean that was a moment where I really believed in what I was doing, and what I had in my hands and I’ve just been running with it ever since because I really believe that I think that mushrooms really should be something that’s in Everybody’s
00:13:58.000 –> 00:14:07.000
Diet, maybe not every day, but fairly consistently, and so I’m just trying to spread the Word and Build really Good Products and to solve business. Around it.
00:14:07.000 –> 00:14:21.000
So I can get it into as many people, as hands, as I can
00:14:21.000 –> 00:14:42.000
For purposes, of Safety I’m just going to say check with your health, care, provider or other practitioner, to make sure that you do know exactly what it is that you are going to be doing talk with them, about the mushrooms, and go from there, and then talk, with greg to find out
00:14:42.000 –> 00:14:51.000
more, but Greg, so let me ask you in the digit memory going from 5 to 10, is certainly.
00:14:51.000 –> 00:14:56.000
An interesting increase by doing that. So talk with me, though and that’s one of the ways that you are doing your own personal development.
00:14:56.000 –> 00:15:12.000
By taking these mushrooms to help you with memory, recall and things along those lines, especially in the Anti-aging Aspect of what You’re Looking at?
00:15:12.000 –> 00:15:18.000
But how do you look at though the professional side of things?
00:15:18.000 –> 00:15:30.000
I mean you move from a marketing firm where you were before you moved into the mushrooms and you’ve been hoping people navigate, starting up and growing their own businesses.
00:15:30.000 –> 00:15:36.000
Tell me more about that and that pivot into the mushroom space
00:15:36.000 –> 00:15:37.000
So this definitely kind of pivots back to the point.
00:15:37.000 –> 00:15:43.000
I was making earlier about being able to stand on your own 2 feet.
00:15:43.000 –> 00:15:48.000
And the Setup deals, that work for you in your favor.
00:15:48.000 –> 00:15:54.000
When you’re starting your business, so I tried not to ever say anything’s luck, but a previous client of mine has been in the mushroom space for a long time.
00:15:54.000 –> 00:16:20.000
And it actually invited me to commit And it took me a couple of months to really jump in but I was able to a set up a partnership with her where basically, I’m doing a drop shipping i’ve set up basically a sales company and a brand and moving her
00:16:20.000 –> 00:16:27.000
Product, and so that’s how I started, and so I was able to start from a place where I needed very little overhead.
00:16:27.000 –> 00:16:43.000
Just a few $100, a month for my hosting, my website, on Shopify That’s like 50 to a $100 a month, a little bit more depending on how many sales are making so they take a piece, and then when I made the sales I was able to pay for the product, that I
00:16:43.000 –> 00:16:50.000
was selling to the consumers so this is a very special circumstance, a very rare circumstance.
00:16:50.000 –> 00:17:08.000
You can find yourself in business, but situations like this dude Z exist, because every business that’s out there that has a product one sales and if you’re able to go and help them grow their business, that helps but I digress a little, bit so the kind of the whole purpose of moving into this business was because I
00:17:08.000 –> 00:17:28.000
Had realized that relying on other people for my businesses, and my well being just was not going to create a stable a Financially Healthy lifestyle for the long run it was always Going to be probably Peaks, and Valleys We’re doing great We’re Not Doing great
00:17:28.000 –> 00:17:29.000
we’re doing great, not doing great. So I was really searching for a way to build, a business for myself, that I could grow.
00:17:29.000 –> 00:17:39.000
And even if it was slow, start, it would be steady, and it’s something that I could control.
00:17:39.000 –> 00:17:55.000
So that’s essentially what I did. Was take this product and turn it into something where I’m able to kind of control my destiny with it
00:17:55.000 –> 00:18:05.000
Thank you. And is really interesting. How you had that partner, or the client who became your partner.
00:18:05.000 –> 00:18:14.000
And you started drops shipping the mushrooms started growing your business, that way, and that’s actually a really great idea.
00:18:14.000 –> 00:18:33.000
By the way, for those of you that are listening. Think about it in this perspective, because you can be doing something extremely similar even if you’re not selling Mushrooms like Greg is but let’s say, though, that, you have an auto, body, shop, and across the street, or Nearby you have a
00:18:33.000 –> 00:18:39.000
Yogurt shop a frozen yogurt shop, right who don’t like FroYo, especially kids, right?
00:18:39.000 –> 00:18:48.000
You’ve got parents coming in with their kids, to get the oil change to get the Tire effect whatever it.
00:18:48.000 –> 00:19:00.000
Is that’s going on. If you send them across the street to the FroYo place think about what that’s going to be doing in terms of both of your profitability.
00:19:00.000 –> 00:19:12.000
Right. People are going to want to keep coming back to you, because you’re recognizing the fact that hey you’re giving the kids something to do and not driving the parents.
00:19:12.000 –> 00:19:16.000
Crazy, and the Frozen Yogurt Place across the street is gonna love it.
00:19:16.000 –> 00:19:23.000
Because they’re getting new customers, and they may give you the first one that somebody comes at no cost.
00:19:23.000 –> 00:19:32.000
Because again, what is their marketing, budget to get? A, new client, and if it’s let’s say $10 to get a client.
00:19:32.000 –> 00:19:39.000
But you are giving the parent and the kid, or maybe just the kid, a small froyo.
00:19:39.000 –> 00:19:45.000
which is maybe $3, $4,
00:19:45.000 –> 00:19:51.000
The Yogurt place is making $6 on the value. Cause.
00:19:51.000 –> 00:19:57.000
Now that the parents know about this place and parents are gonna most likely keep coming back.
00:19:57.000 –> 00:20:04.000
If the kid likes it, and so from an acquisition perspective, that is an excellent opportunity to take advantage.
00:20:04.000 –> 00:20:10.000
And think how you can use these ideas, and you want to always be singing outside the box, too.
00:20:10.000 –> 00:20:11.000
Many people are stuck. Oh, no, I gotta advertise here, advertise.
00:20:11.000 –> 00:20:15.000
There, you don’t want. There’s a lot of things.
00:20:15.000 –> 00:20:21.000
I keep telling my clients how to do and really keeping ear out for that idea in terms of what it is that we’re doing.
00:20:21.000 –> 00:20:31.000
But Greg let’s go back though to your story right.
00:20:31.000 –> 00:20:37.000
I mean you were doing, the marketing, business, you made a couple of pivots.
00:20:37.000 –> 00:20:50.000
There was some aspect of what it was that was going on in your life business personally, that made you decide this is direction. You wanted to go
00:20:50.000 –> 00:21:05.000
How long were you debating it in terms of that pivot, and what was the turning point that made you say this is direction that want to go in and kind of put the other side away
00:21:05.000 –> 00:21:15.000
So, basically heading in the quarantine, I had a few business partners at a whole team, and within a couple of months.
00:21:15.000 –> 00:21:36.000
That was halved. People had to go their own ways take care of themselves, you know everyone was kind of fighting, for what they needed for themselves at that time, and then by the end of the year I was down to just me and I mean, I’m not gonna lie that Hurt I didn’t know what direction was
00:21:36.000 –> 00:21:51.000
Up, there’s one conversation, I was having with a business partner who ended up moving away, and he was asking why everything was failing, and why what was going on and what’s going on I just literally looked at him and we were having a zoom call like this I was like you left me, like you just you
00:21:51.000 –> 00:21:58.000
Left me like what do you want for me. You can’t call me and yelling me about these things that are going on.
00:21:58.000 –> 00:22:17.000
When you left the Company. So it was a few situations, like that and it’s things where I don’t find any ill will in it it was just the truth of the situation, and we all had to kind of figure out what we were gonna do now and so
00:22:17.000 –> 00:22:18.000
It took a while, I think I was just kind of trying a few different opportunities.
00:22:18.000 –> 00:22:26.000
That came along and I don’t know the mushrooms.
00:22:26.000 –> 00:22:32.000
Just hit it within a few days of doing research I was very excited about it.
00:22:32.000 –> 00:22:41.000
And within 2 months of getting the first phone call I’d launched my website.
00:22:41.000 –> 00:22:48.000
So it was really just a situation of I honestly didn’t know what else to do.
00:22:48.000 –> 00:22:53.000
And this seems like a really good opportunity. I was very early in the industry.
00:22:53.000 –> 00:23:04.000
I was actually the first person to go public in some different forums that was selling Wholesale and Bulk of these mushrooms.
00:23:04.000 –> 00:23:21.000
I knew within time-four hours that I had something because I’ve made one post in a group Facebook and had over 60 Businesses inquire with Me within 24 h, saying that they’ve been looking for somebody like Me or They’d want to hear more so from that point
00:23:21.000 –> 00:23:42.000
On. I was just in, you know, like that was like I haven’t ever gotten feedback like that on any of my businesses that I’ve had since I was 20 you know it’s always been more of an uphill battle so I think what it really was was just that I didn’t give in the towel that
00:23:42.000 –> 00:23:46.000
I wanted to be operating a business. I was like, I know that I’m the type of person that needs to be operating a business.
00:23:46.000 –> 00:23:55.000
That’s the only way I’m going to be happy in my own life, and so the opportunity is kind, of knocking a few of them put me even farther behind.
00:23:55.000 –> 00:24:00.000
But I finally found the mushrooms, and they were kind of my saving grace in that way.
00:24:00.000 –> 00:24:10.000
It was a new wave of business to ride, and it’s been a fun ride so far
00:24:10.000 –> 00:24:26.000
Thank you for that story in being so candid with the situation, so Greg let me ask you what is it that makes you get out of bed in the morning.
00:24:26.000 –> 00:24:31.000
What is it that makes you tech
00:24:31.000 –> 00:24:53.000
Being better today, just growth, personal Development and professional I have, for instance, on my I have a Mirror, by my door and I have like, Dates written out and then basically what you Call, like an external sheet drawn on and I have different categories, that I need to hit every Day for my
00:24:53.000 –> 00:24:58.000
Own personal development, and that’s something that I started a few years back.
00:24:58.000 –> 00:25:01.000
And it’s just personal accountability. So up there, for example.
00:25:01.000 –> 00:25:14.000
So I have exercise, read, create so create something, whether I’m on a photograph, or working, on a website, or a marking piece.
00:25:14.000 –> 00:25:21.000
Or something meditate, and I’m blanking on the fifth.
00:25:21.000 –> 00:25:25.000
But so that gives you the idea. So that’s the first thing that I do.
00:25:25.000 –> 00:25:28.000
Is I check that, and I make sure that I’m filled in and caught up
00:25:28.000 –> 00:25:34.000
And I’ll say little goals with myself, like I want to achieve 80% of the access.
00:25:34.000 –> 00:25:39.000
Oh, my fifth one is make money. So I wanna I wanna make money every day.
00:25:39.000 –> 00:25:46.000
So that’s just an abundance mindset for those of you out there that have done any abundance practices.
00:25:46.000 –> 00:26:06.000
That is the bringing it into my life, every day, the thought and the intention to make money and bring money in so but that is the same thing with having meditate up there and read and create like these are all things that and exercise these are all things that are important to keeping me balanced so that
00:26:06.000 –> 00:26:18.000
I can continue to operate efficiently without hitting my burnouts, because that was something that I struggled with early on in my entrepreneurial life was getting burned out not being able to work for 2 3 weeks at a time sometime so doing these things.
00:26:18.000 –> 00:26:26.000
Are able to make me be efficient.
00:26:26.000 –> 00:26:35.000
And it’s great that you’ve got that on your mirror, like you said that it’s something that you’re looking at, and I too.
00:26:35.000 –> 00:26:55.000
I’m, a strong believer in the putting it out there, and having the visual in terms of what you’re doing, right here, at my desk I’ve got 2 vision born that have a lot of information on there and I created them several years ago and one thing I will say just in case you’re thinking about
00:26:55.000 –> 00:27:10.000
Doing, a vision board of your own. Be really really specific on what it is that you want from the vision board and why, I say, that is because put a picture of a particular hotel in Las, Vegas.
00:27:10.000 –> 00:27:17.000
On the Vision Board. I said, I wanted more, travel. That was an idea.
00:27:17.000 –> 00:27:23.000
I just want travel. It wasn’t something specificndra happening.
00:27:23.000 –> 00:27:35.000
Was the very next year. I was out 13 times in Las Vegas speaking on stages, not far away from that hotel.
00:27:35.000 –> 00:27:57.000
So I didn’t necessarily want only business travel. I wanted some of the personal travel, too, but really be specific in what it is that you’re trying to get from your vision boards the other thing, that you want to do also is and greg you alluded to the money and the Abundance mindset the other
00:27:57.000 –> 00:27:59.000
Thing you want to do and I’m just gonna touch on.
00:27:59.000 –> 00:28:10.000
This really quickly is put a dollar bill. In a whole bunch of different places in your house, so for me, I have a dollar bill sitting on my desk.
00:28:10.000 –> 00:28:11.000
I have a dollar bill on my mirror, in my room.
00:28:11.000 –> 00:28:26.000
I have a dollar bill on my breakfast. I have a dollar bill in the cabinets. I have a
00:28:26.000 –> 00:28:33.000
You realize you’re, not lacking, money, and so there’s an abundance of it.
00:28:33.000 –> 00:28:52.000
Instead of a lack of it, and so as one of those mind hacks, if you will that you can use to really start changing up the way that you look at
00:28:52.000 –> 00:29:11.000
Lockdown I did this before lockdown, and I thank God, wasn’t in the same position, but there’s a lot of issues, though that people do need to be looking at as it relates to that I won’t say that I wasn’t you know losing revenue right I think the
00:29:11.000 –> 00:29:20.000
Whole world lost, a significant amount.
00:29:20.000 –> 00:29:24.000
You know you’re over year on the month in terms of where I was that was a significant hit.
00:29:24.000 –> 00:29:31.000
But I was in a position to still cover the expenses.
00:29:31.000 –> 00:29:32.000
But you want to be thinking about what you can do in that. Regard.
00:30:38.000 –> 00:30:46.000
So if you were to look out 12 to 18 months. Where do you see yourself? Being right.
00:30:46.000 –> 00:31:09.000
And 12 to 18 months. I see myself really focusing on a couple of specific lines of mushroom products I’ve been working on I’ve been working on some new tropics, Products and I’ve been Seeing Tremendous results already that are really Pushing Me to just go Deeper
00:31:09.000 –> 00:31:30.000
Into working, with combining whatever ingredients I can find that work well together for specific reasons to help accomplish goals within people so like, for instance, this is my first new tropic product flow state and I’m already getting Terrific Feedback especially from people that have been daily Adder all
00:31:30.000 –> 00:31:34.000
Takers I’m actually been really surprised by
00:31:34.000 –> 00:31:52.000
A couple of my friends that I’ve been taking it, and have not needed their at all, and are actually beating their productivity, with my new tropic that I’ve been putting together based around mushrooms over there at all so this is literally some information That’s been coming back to me, over the last
00:31:52.000 –> 00:31:53.000
Couple of days and it’s really like I I can barely contain my excitement about it.
00:31:53.000 –> 00:32:04.000
I’ve been calling all my partners, everybody working with me, I mean, you gotta listen to this feedback.
00:32:04.000 –> 00:32:05.000
We’ve been getting so over the next few months.
00:32:05.000 –> 00:32:29.000
I’m gonna be working on that getting this up and ready for sale, which includes, not just having everything lab tested, so that everybody knows that it’s safe but also Working with a Couple of different professionals, that are Experts in all of these different plant medicines, that
00:32:29.000 –> 00:32:40.000
I’m including in some of these, and then also double blind studies, because I won’t sell something, unless I believe in it.
00:32:40.000 –> 00:32:48.000
And this is something that I’ve been focusing on that will separate me within the mushroom industry itself.
00:32:48.000 –> 00:32:55.000
Something unique, something that provides value something that solves a very specific problem for people.
00:32:55.000 –> 00:32:59.000
So this is why I’m going to be putting all of my for behind.
00:32:59.000 –> 00:33:16.000
And I would love to get this the next 12, to 18 months, to a point where basically this business is supporting me and I don’t need to be finding other alternative sources of revenue to keep my roof over my head so I’d love to be back at a point.
00:33:16.000 –> 00:33:42.000
Where my business is my soul focus in life.
00:33:42.000 –> 00:33:43.000
Alright.

00:34:58.000 –> 00:35:01.000
I would say.
00:35:01.000 –> 00:35:11.000
Just believe in yourself, believe in your purpose, If you don’t have your purpose yet, just believe that you’ll find it soon.
00:35:11.000 –> 00:35:30.000
The world keeps going the sun keeps rising every day, and you might as well wake up, and just make the most of it, whether you’re just starting out, again or you had a business that Exploded from quarantine and now might be Slowing Down, again Cause the Economies, are going back to
00:35:30.000 –> 00:35:38.000
our when you got to find a different object revenue stream again, whatever the situation just keep plugging, and you’ll turn it all around.
00:35:38.000 –> 00:35:45.000
You’ll build it, and your life will be what you want it to be
00:35:45.000 –> 00:35:48.000
Words, of gold. Thank you definitely pay attention to what it is that you are doing.
00:35:48.000 –> 00:36:04.000
We’ve seen during Lockdown as an example, companies like zoom exploded companies like Peloton, Exploded as People started Going back to the Office.
00:36:04.000 –> 00:36:21.000
We started having shifts and what We’re, doing the Kinds of Wardrobes that We’re going back into the Kinds of Activities, that We’re getting back to and so there’s a Lot of Changes Like Greg was Just Saying that you Do Need To Be Paying Attention to and One Thing, that
00:36:21.000 –> 00:36:31.000
you always regardless of pandemic or no pandemic recession or no recession, that you need to be paying attention to is innovation.
00:36:31.000 –> 00:36:51.000
You need to be paying attention to what is it that you’re doing in your own product, and your own business because if you’re not innovating and putting your own product out of business, somebody, else is we have seen that whether it’s, kodak, not listening when digital was coming out, whether it was blockbuster.
00:36:51.000 –> 00:36:58.000
No accepting the Founder from Netflix’s Idea, that was going to save them.
00:36:58.000 –> 00:37:11.000
The taxi market being upended by Uber, the list goes on and on there’s so many disruptors that come into these industries and change things up, and it’s really important that you do pay Attention, to what it is that you.
00:37:11.000 –> 00:37:21.000
Are doing and how you’re doing it. That’s going to really help you figure out this, is a path that is going to make the most sense.
00:37:21.000 –> 00:37:32.000
As you continue moving forward. There’s too many people out there that are simply willing to escape by on, what they did 30 years ago, and it’s not going to be the same thing tomorrow.
00:37:32.000 –> 00:37:40.000
If that’s what worked for you 30 years ago and so you do also need to be paying attention to your own personal development.
00:37:40.000 –> 00:37:55.000
As we started this conversation, you need to be paying attention to those things that are really going to be making that difference what is it that you’re doing that is going to really change the world in terms, of what you’re doing yourself.
00:37:55.000 –> 00:38:04.000
What is it that’s going to really be making the difference in terms of having you in the driver’s seat in terms of where you are?
00:38:04.000 –> 00:38:21.000
What is it that’s going to be making you, the expert that people are going to want to be looking at Greg mentioned earlier, in the show people like Gary Vaynerchuk and people along those lines, that have been Podcasting this whole time Gary Vee.
00:38:21.000 –> 00:38:24.000
Is great, and for those of you that have been following him.
00:38:24.000 –> 00:38:30.000
He he is certainly one of those minds, that a lot of entrepreneurs. Do.
00:38:30.000 –> 00:38:42.000
Listen to but he’s not perfect for everyone. You need to find your own mentor, your own guide, your own coach terms of looking at where you’re going to be going from there as well, it really is important, that you know exactly.
00:38:42.000 –> 00:38:46.000
What you’re doing. So that you are going to be in a better position.
00:38:46.000 –> 00:38:55.000
As you continue moving forward down the road, and so on. That note this has been another episode of MOJO: The Meaning of Life and Business.
00:38:55.000 –> 00:38:58.000
Once again, Greg, thank you so much for being my guest.
00:38:58.000 –> 00:38:59.000
Thank you so much for having me
00:38:59.000 –> 00:39:08.000
Until next time, absolutely and until next time. Here’s to your success.
